Our goal is to develop global citizens through an inquiry-based approach to learning. We support every student so they can thrive, reach their goals, and be part of a diverse international community that makes a positive impact on society. For this to work, children need to feel supported—that’s why we have native English-speaking Elementary School specialists, along with the school counseling team.
Elementary School PYP (American system) in Tres Cantos
Elementary School runs from Grade 1 through Grade 5 (ages 6–10). During these years, students follow the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP), a framework that promotes inquiry-based learning and whole-child development. In Grade 5, students complete the PYP Exhibition: they research a topic that matters to them and explore how it can benefit society. It’s a powerful way to see how they think, how they communicate, and how they connect learning to the real world.
STEAM in the Makerspace: learning by doing
We use STEAM as an integrated, cross-curricular approach that sparks interest in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math. Students bring it to life in our Makerspace, a hands-on classroom where they share resources and knowledge to build projects. Technology is used both as a subject (robotics, design, app development) and as a tool for classroom learning—always balanced with other effective learning strategies.
Talent, creativity, and the confidence to express themselves
From Pre-School on, students explore visual arts, music, and movement. In Elementary School, they take music (singing and instruments like ukulele or piano), plus Technical Drawing, Design, and Debate—because public speaking and clear reasoning matter. We also offer Dance with a specialist teacher, two hours a week starting in Grade 1. Beyond Physical Education, students have strong athletic opportunities and a program that builds sportsmanship and teamwork. Facilities include a soccer field, an indoor gym, tennis and padel courts, and a table tennis area.
